Updated Mock Draft

June 25th, 2009

Do to a whirlwind of things going on I’ve been neglecting the picks.

I finalized my mock it looks like this.

Mock Draft Pick #8: New York Knicks

June 23rd, 2009

Stephen Curry: Shooting Guard Davidson

This is a dream scenario for both player and team. Stephen Curry gets to go to New York. The Knicks finally have a marketable player on their team. More importantly the Knicks have a sharp shooter for their fast paced offense.

  • The San Antonio Spurs are giving up nothing for Richard Jefferson.
  • Sean May will not get an offer to sit on the Bobcats bench.
  • Ryne Sandberg doesn’t think Sammy Sosa should be in the Hall of Fame.
  • LSU took Game 1 from Texas.
  • LSU fans celebrate like no others.

Mock Draft Pick #7: Golden State Warriors

June 23rd, 2009

Jordan Hill: Power Forward Arizona

The Warriors need a PG. This is no secret. But the Warriors really really like Jordan Hill. He is a good athletic big man that Don Nelson can plug into his fast paced offense. Expect the Warriors to be active in moving players.

Mock Draft Pick #6: Minnesota Timberwolves

June 19th, 2009

Ricky Rubio: PG Spain

The Spanish sensation FINALLY lands somewhere. This scenario seemed so unlikely just a week ago but Rubio’s actions and antics have turned off a few teams and Rubio will slide down the board. He won’t get past the Timberwolves.

Mock Draft Pick #5: Washington Wizards

June 19th, 2009

Tyreke Evans: Guard Memphis

It is far more likely that this pick is traded. But if Washington chooses to keep it I’d be surprised if they pass up Evans here. Several teams looking to acquire this pick are also interested in Evans. Read more analysis after the jump.

Rafa Pulls out of Wimbledon

June 19th, 2009

Interesting developments. Blows open the top quarter of the draw but makes it a little easier for Andy Roddick.

Mock Draft Pick #4: Sacramento Kings

June 19th, 2009

Jonny Flynn: Point Guard Syracuse

This is a tough pick to project. The Kings obviously want a point guard. Ricky Rubio is available in this scenario but there are multiple reports saying that the Kings aren’t sold on Rubio and coupled with his non-workout last Tuesday it’s fair to say he didn’t swing in votes in his favor. The Kings have worked out other point guards and it looks like Flynn is at the top of their list. Make the jump for more analysis.

Mock Draft Pick #3: Oklahoma City Thunder

June 18th, 2009

James Harden Shooting Guard Arizona State

Russell Westbrook makes Ricky Rubio or other point guards moot. Kevin Durant has locked down a wing position and Jeff Green is a developing post player so Arizona’s Jordan Hill won’t unseat him. Harden is the logical pick here. He can come off the bench and be a productive 6th man and evenetually work his way to a starting position. Make the jump for more analysis.

  • This isn’t really a relevant story and I don’t really care about Katie Price or Jordan. Instead I want you to read this to look at the gross abuse of exclamation points. I’m by no means a grammar genius but this is straight up appalling. It also explains why I get so many text messages or messages in general that end with ?!?!.
  • Bill Simmons searches for the golden age in baseball. I can’t say I disagree with his conclusion. It was slightly before my time but thanks to ESPN classic and neighbors that were Twins fans I watched more than enough iconic moments from that span.
  • Matt Hayes of TSN writes about the Big 12’s non-conference schedule. It’s kind of sad how many cupcakes this division schedules now. Nebraska is no better by scheduling a decent portion of the Sun Belt conference.
  • Secretary of State Hillary Clinton fell and broke her elbow.
  • This dog knows what it wants.
  • Rain suspends play at Bethpage. The only thing slowing Tiger Woods is mother nature.
